A look at the camera under the acrylic. Right now it’s just sitting on the floor, about 3 1/2 ft. below the acrylic sheet. Notice that the Thorlabs filter has been placed on top of the camera using that tacky stuff you use to hang posters on walls.

A photo of our current setup. Note that the LED’s are in place around the acrylic. We have a monitor set up for now, since we don’t have the projector or Rosco grey sheet set up yet.

A side view of our new piece of acrylic. Might be hard to tell from the photo, but it is COMPLETELY CLEAR. It’s worth noting that for about $20 we were able to have LusterCraft use some awesome machine they have to polish it for us, so we didn’t even have to worry about it. Well worth the money!

We finally realized that it was probably the piece of acrylic itself that was causing the problem. So, we went down to LusterCraft, a local Wichita company that specializes in acrylic. Not only did we get a piece for only a bit more, it was much thicker (it’s either 1/2″ or 3/4″ instead of 3/8″), and much, much clearer, especially on the sides.
